Although Weil am Rhein is “just” a medium-sized frontier town next to Switzerland and France, you can find two very interesting stores for any sneakerhead. Especially for those living in Southern Germany, it’s only a stone’s throw away and it’s really worth to go there!
For design-awared people, the furniture manufacturer Vitra a well-known brand. However, also people who are not interested in this topic at all, you certainly know their chairs. Since 1950, these classics are exclusively produced in Weil am Rhein. The most famous products are the chairs of Ray and Charles Eames aswellas Verner Panton. The factory is like Mekka for architecture aficionados as there is also a museum. Design-lovers get versatile insights into the whole range of products. For sneaker aficionados, there are a lot of nice places to take photos of their shoes.
In the same village, there is a small outlet of the Japanese jeans manufacturer “Edwin”, which is well-known to sneakerheads. The store is equipped with a real love of detail, some cool guys work there and the product range as well as the prices are amazing! Right next to the store you can find further shops like Carhartt and a small Puma outlet.
